Get to Know the Pentateuch

Volume One of a series "Getting to know the Bible" by Fr David M Neuhaus SJ

Get to Know the Pentateuch, the first of eight Volumes, is a warm, honest companion for getting to know the Bible - less an event-by-event account than a guide to what it all might mean.  It traces the sweep of the story, then opens up five words at the heart of the Pentateuch's teaching: blessing, torah, sin, steadfast love and holiness - the vocabulary of faith Jesus inherited and made his own.  Along the way, it faces the hard questions squarely, including the violence and patriarchy of the ancient world, and asks what these texts mean for readers now.
