Putting on the Mind of Christ
Contemplative Prayer and Holistic Unity
James E Woods
James Woods shows how the practice of contemplative prayer enables one to see with the mind of Christ and to love with the heart of God ... He engages the Christian Scriptures, the Eastern mystical tradition, and contemporary neuropsychology with penetrating insight. A transformative book.
‘Pastor Woods takes us on a journey to a deep discovery of Christ through contemplative prayer. As we die to the world, we become our true self in humility and purity of heart, and our perceptions deepen. We become aware of God’s indwelling in the brilliant darkness of a hidden silence.” - Brother Francis Flaherty, OCSO, Assumption Abbey
James Woods is a pastor within the United Methodist Church and is on the faculty for the Certification in Spiritual Direction program at Perkins Center for Transformative Prayer. He devotes up to six weeks each year living at the Cistercian-Trappist Assumption Abbey in Ava, Mo, and lives with his family in McKinney, TX.
